A large retail company had been paying for a group of phone lines for over three years that did not terminate on any of their properties. Profit Line Expense Recovery secured a refund for the full amount that had been paid to the phone company, plus the client is now saving the expense of these services on their monthly telecom budget.

In the course of our utility billing analysis of 10 locations for a convenience store company, we were able to make changes resulting in a savings of over $45,000.00 per year on their electric expense. While conducting a utility and telecom billing analysis for a manufacturing company, we uncovered a rate error on their water/sewer bills. A refund of over $23,000 was secured, along with a sizable future savings realized every month from the rate correction.

After doing an analysis of local telephone service for a hotel, we discovered that they had been paying for special phone line services that terminated in the middle of a parking lot ten miles from the hotel. A refund for eight years of service was negotiated and a reduction in future billing secured.

Our telecom and utility analysis for a school district turned up a situation in which the rate on one of the water meters for a high school had been misapplied. Since the error dated back to when the school was built, we obtained a refund of over $65,000.00 for the school district, plus the monthly savings resulting from applying the proper rate. Further savings were realized by our reconfiguration of their recycling programs, water usage programs, and telecom billing.

Our billing analysis for a large resort hotel found that they had been overcharged on their trash bills for a number of years. Result: a refund of over $21,000 plus a significant reduction in their future billing. 

A telecommunications analysis for the corporate offices of a client turned up what initially appeared to be a minor long distance rate billing error. After investigating the problem further, we found the problem to be more serious, and a refund for $46,000.00 was obtained. We were also able to lower the telecom expenses by over $125,000.00 annually.

Our restructuring of their waste disposal agreements allowed a manufacturing company to convert a monthly waste disposal expense to a monthly check by proper recycling of certain solid waste materials.

In the course of our analysis, we will seek to uncover and correct every situation where overbilling has occurred in order to enhance your monthly bottom line. During this time, we will use our best efforts to detect overcharges, secure refunds, and reduce the cost of purchasing communication, utility, and waste disposal services. In almost all cases, any changes to achieve these savings will be totally transparent to our clients and their staff.

Fees would be paid from reduced costs and/or refunds. Profit Line Expense Recovery Services only shares in the savings from the analysis if identifiable and measurable savings are realized. Monthly savings are calculated after the client receives the bill for each billing period. In the case of fixed telephone costs and waste disposal, this is very straightforward. In situations where the usage amount changes each month, old and new rates are carried on the analysis models. When a new bill is received, the amount of usage for that month is plugged in, which compares the cost at the old rate with the cost at the new rate. This gives a true picture of the savings actually realized and is the basis for our monthly fee. In situations where a refund is called for, we calculate the refund amount including all applicable taxes and interest and then file the refund request with the utility or vendor. We will pursue and defend this refund for you until paid or credited to the proper account.
