Do errors really occur? A survey conducted by the House Ways and Means Committee illustrated that utility companies overbilled in the sum of $19 billion in energy charges on incorrect taxes alone. And Consumer's Checkbook (a division of Consumer Reports), conducted an experiment to test the accuracy of telephone bills. Their results showed that 87% of the bills contained overcharges.

Doesn't the State Public Utility Commission determine our rates? This is a major misconception held by most consumers today. While we can quote from the rules and regulations of most every state, we think the following statement from the Georgia Public Service Commission represents the unanimous viewpoint of the State Commissions:

"This Commission does not require that utility companies guarantee to commercial and industrial consumers the lowest available rates for a given operation. When two or more rate schedules or types of service are available, it is the customer who must make the final decision as to which type of service he desires. If the customer guesses wrong as to what type of service will be most economical, the utility cannot be required to reimburse him for his mistakes." This does not mean, however, that you cannot save money in the future by switching to a better program.

Can't we do the analysis ourselves? Of course you can. You can also overhaul your own transmission if you know how. Profit Line's resource library contains volumes of material from utilities, telecom companies, municipalities, and governmental regulatory agencies all of which help us to ensure that you are not paying more than you should, and have not done so in the past. We also have long standing working relationships with telecom and utility vendors around the country allowing us easier access to more information, which we put to work for you.

What does it cost to get started? Nothing. There is never an up-front or out-of-pocket charge for our services. If we do not produce a direct credit, refund, or savings, there is no charge at all. When we are successful, you pay us out of the credit or savings after you have received it. Never a net cost, only a net savings.

Does PROFIT LINE Get Results? Industry standards show that 8 out of 10 consumers who have an analysis are found to be overpaying on their utilities and business expenses. Profit Line has been able to save money for 95% of our clients. In all cases, some form of rebate or credit was received and/or future costs reduced.

How do we get started? Upon your completing the service agreement and authorization forms, Profit Line will begin collecting data and information directly from the utilities and vendors themselves. We will also require you to furnish certain information in order to complete the picture. However, due to our years of experience in this business, the amount of time you will need to invest in the analysis will be kept to an absolute minimum. We will also keep you apprised of our progress through periodic reports.
